Patience O’ Bahrain


The world of Ali’s lovers on you has its eye
Like history’s hero you stand with no ally
So learn from Hussain
Patience O’ Bahrain

With the perfume of injustice you have been blessed
And with the shrouds of death your bodies have been pressed
Undying is your voice O’ voice of the oppressed
Sweet every cry of motherless mothers distressed

Sweet are the streets that are filled with your blood and tears
Each drop of shed blood shall echo upon the years
A Heaven’s domain
Patience O’ Bahrain

The world turns on your screams an eye and a ear blind
Only angels descend and your bodies they find
Do human rights no more upon these humans bind
Or are the Shia not human toward mankind?

Prejudiced and oppressive the world we abide
O’ Shia of Bahrain you swim against the tide
To your Lord complain
Patience O’ Bahrain

With the cry of an eagle you called for freedom
And received the sweetest answer of martyrdom
Crafted with your patience comes undying wisdom
No this is not their country, this is your kingdom

Your bodies pave roads of gold for your future land
Sunni and Shia against these tyrants you’ll stand
Martyrdom attain
Patience O’ Bahrain

O’ Bahrain patience is both beautiful and sweet
As strengthened is the soul with each patient heartbeat
The Lord is with the hearts that haste’s entice defeat
When rifles are turned on you with them roses greet

Be the rose that leaves a scent on who crushes it
Like Zainab when with calamities she was hit
Karbala again

What began with who cried Shia is my mother
And raised me a Sunni’s hand, this was my father
And to me none is worthier than the other
So why do these tyrants seek to Shias smother?

At your tyranny Sunni and Shia protest
Yet the sickness of your mind Shia blood detests
Fear of God obtain
Patience O’ Bahrain

Yet what began is no longer what transpires
As the so-called royals continue as liars
And the hatred of an angry heart aspires
Misery upon innocents it desires

A lesson to the tyrants of the now and old
Never erased the memory of this Household
Your actions in vain
Patience O’ Bahrain

These are who stand up for others when they’re defamed
When oppression upon any human is named
So why now to soothe their cries has nobody aimed?
Every person that sits silent should be ashamed

Truly like Hussain felt when he stood all alone
Calling out for help but no reply to him shown
Adding to wounds pain
Patience O’ Bahrain

O’ youth of Bahrain on you Mehdi has his eye
When upon your households tyranny you deny
The tyrants O’ beloved youth make your Imam cry
And to the chains of his vengeance they shall comply

Patience as he will rise and brush healthy your wounds
And spring up whenever they wish to you re-wound
And justice shall rain
